turkey day
as much as i dislike the aura of genocide surrounding thanksgiving (um, dislike is perhaps too gentle a term), i do enjoy the whole getting together with family and eating until you pop aspect of it. sadly, i realized that i neglected to eat any of my mother's famously fabulous pumpkin pie! surely the world will very shortly come to a grinding halt.
among the highlights of this evening: i got to meet my cousin nora, who slept her way around the room (hm... well, considering she's two months old i guess that's not terribly risque), and i got to chat with my great grandmother, who looked chipper as always. i asked her if she'd be interested in telling me stories and having them recorded for posterity and she was thrilled by the idea. since she's going to be 95 in december i figure now's as good a time as any to get her to spill all the juicy bits. now i just need an isight to bring my plan to fruition...
now i am going to eat a half frozen piece of cherry cheese cake. no, two dinners were not enough!
